Hilder Vilnor Owner King Queen Caribbean Bar & Grill

A day at King Queen starts well before the opening hour. At 8am Hilder’s day begin with making sure all the ovens, grills, and line warmer are lit and running. Checking the freezer walk-in cooler is paramount to running a business such as this throughout the day. Making sure all prep is done and then he goes home to maybe get the remainder of sleep he missed out on after taking his niece to school each morning. At the 11:00 hour the restaurant opens and the day in the life of restaurant owner begins. If anyone can say they works hard it is this man along with his sister DJ who have to manage the daily operations of the restaurant most times just the two of them, from cooking, running the line, serving, and hosting till closing everyday along with dishwashing at the end of the day just to go home a most times midnight to get up the next day to do it all over again. The most amazing thing is they do this daily along with keeping the restaurant clean and maintaining a good grade without ever complaining about what they have to do. I know this because I am a very good friend and neighbor of theirs and I worked there for a year and a half witnessing all this.
